Kids Crochet Slippers With Handspun Yarn

These were made with carpet/weaving wool that was given to me and I decided to trial out the pattern to see if it was what I envisaged before releasing some of my homespun yarn.

The first pair of slippers came out looking pretty OK so I thought they would look amazing in thickish handspun wool to give a felted look and they did:)

Detail of kids crochet slippers - I have added another row round the top using up some scrap wool from the stash and give it a bit more zing

These slippers are great for using up odds and ends of yarn as the soles are crochet separately and it makes no difference if you just add on yarn as you go - no need to make sure you have all the same color or batch before you start and they are even better crocheted in thick, textured wool.  In fact the lumpier and clunkier the yarn the better they look so save all your beginning hand spinning !

Crochet is cool as you can't drop a stitch, can easily increase and decrease and is easily transported.
Try this pattern for yourself - it is so easy, all you need is some homespun yarn and a crochet hook and you're all set to make yourself an original and unique hand crafted pair of warm and cosy slippers in record time.
